The Car Bank for your community

Donate Your Vehicle, Change a Life

Don't want to invest more money keeping your car on the road? Donate it to the Stranded Motorist Fund®. If it makes financial sense, we'll fix it up, make it safe, and give it to someone in need.

How It Works

1

Submit the Form

Fill out our short online form — it takes about 10 minutes. Tell us about your vehicle, upload photos if you have them, and confirm your information.

2

We Evaluate

Our team reviews your submission and arranges for a certified shop to inspect the vehicle. We determine whether it will be repaired and donated, used for training, or sold to fund the program.

3

Get Your Tax Receipt

Once the donation is finalized, we'll send you IRS Form 1098-C documenting the vehicle's value. Your donation may be tax-deductible.

What Happens to Your Vehicle

Tax-Deductible

Your donation may be tax-deductible. We send IRS Form 1098-C documenting the vehicle's fair market value.

Repaired & Donated

Whenever feasible, we repair the vehicle and give it to a family in need — putting your car back on the road for someone who truly needs it.

Sold to Fund the Program

Vehicles that can't be economically repaired or donated are sold, with all proceeds going directly to fund vehicle repairs for families in need.

Start Your Donation

The form takes about 10 minutes. We'll follow up within 2–3 business days.

Common Questions

Does my vehicle need to be in running condition?

No. We accept vehicles in all conditions, including non-running. Let us know the vehicle's condition in the form and we'll evaluate from there.

Do I need a clear title?

A clear title is required to complete the transfer, but you don't need one to start the process. Our team can help you understand your options if there are title complications.

How do I know what my donation is worth for tax purposes?

After the vehicle is evaluated and the donation is processed, we'll send you IRS Form 1098-C. For vehicles sold for $500 or less, you may deduct the fair market value or $500, whichever is less. Consult your tax advisor for specific guidance.

What if the vehicle is too far away?

We can work with you on logistics. Let us know in the form where the vehicle is located and whether it can be driven — we'll figure out the rest.
